Steins;Gate addpermalink

YU-NO was originally a 1996 visual novel, and was the grandfather of modern time-travel anime and visual novels. Steins Gate in particular was greatly influenced by YU-NO.Both involve time-travel and parallel-universes, and give scientific explanations behind it, and involve the protagonist attempting to save someone using time-travel.

Island addpermalink

Both are based on highly rated visual novels where the protagonist suddenly gets dragged in many mysteries while surrounded by beautiful women. Furthermore these anime are very similar because of time travel (explaining more would be spoilers)

Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu addpermalink

The animes are similar in the way that both mc's have the ability to go back in time multiple times to achieve a favorable outcome. Re: Zero has its lead reverting back to a checkpoint in his life when he dies, while the lead in Kono Yo No Hate has an ancient device that allows him to save a checkpoint in time and travel back to it if he chooses to.

Sakurada Reset addpermalink

Another 2-cour science-fiction/mystery show with high school characters. Both main characters have time travel ability. In YU-NO the MacGuffin of the story is the time travel device the protagonist uses, but in Sakurada reset the MacGuffin is the key to all the superpowers.

Summertime Render addpermalink

Small detached community, misterious events, unexplained murders, and time loops are similar traits in both shows. However, I think Summertime Render has better pace and production value.

Rewrite addpermalink

I think you will like YU-NO if you liked Rewrite, for basically four reasons1- both shows are parallel worlds and time travel based2- main character, well characterized, fights against "destiny" for his love/family3- several plot twists4- the mix of so many genres will drives you crazy!

Tokyo Revengers addpermalink

Both anime revolve around using time travel to prevent people’s untimely deaths. Both anime show how small changes you make in the past can drastically change the future, and how some things just don’t seem to change at all, no matter how many times you try. The difference between them is that YU-NO uses dimension hopping rather than actual time travel, while Tokyo Revengers seemingly uses actual time travel. This is a minor similarity, but both anime have Yuu Hayashi voicing a main character.

Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai addpermalink

Both have nonsense science derived from real theories. Really Good Character Writing And Dialogues. Even tho we do not have Mai Sakurajima In YUNO, the protagonist is very much like Sakuta. A Rascal. Bunny Girl's Better But Give YUNO a shot as well.

Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu addpermalink

The source material for both these shows were ancestors of the modern isekai genre. The YU-NO visual novel came out in 1996, while the Mushoku web novel came out in 2012.Both works were critically acclaimed and commercial successful in their original media. And since their releases, numerous modern isekai works borrowed heavily from both these works. However, their anime adaptations were delayed for a long time, releasing years after many of the isekai anime they inspired.Another similarity is the protagonists. The protagonist in both works are horny perverts. The protagonists of both works thus have a somewhat polarizing reception among modern audiences.A key difference is &nbspread more

Clannad: After Story addpermalink

YU-NO was originally a 1996 visual novel, and was hugely influential, inspiring numerous visual novels and anime shows. One of the VNs and anime shows inspired by YU-NO is Clannad. The author of Clannad, Jun Maeda, cited YU-NO as inspiration for Clannad. In particular, the latter parts of both YU-NO and Clannad After Story have a similar tragic plotline involving a father, mother and daughter.

Domestic na Kanojo addpermalink

ok so kind of a far comparison but i know some poor soul is searching for the same thing i was the similarities lie in the fact that some heroines were "dirtied" in yu-no it would be ayumi and kanna and in domestic kanojo it would be Rui and Hana, kanna is similar to Rui and ayumi similar to Hana, kanna and Rui both kind of gave them selves away in their despair if you will and and ayumi and Hana both getting plowed by guys just using them. besides this there isn't really much in common between the 2 anime and both of these &nbspread more
